You could always have him sacrifice himself for her. Honestly the sacrifice thing kinda works since the dream he had kind of read like a croak dream. So if he dies for Fiona...(Dark: PLEASE! I love seeing my favorite characters on the verge of death! It's when they are truly at their best!) Says the sadist... The question is whether he dies permanently or if a plot device saves him at the last second. Best advice I've got. Hope it helps.

I feel for you. Same thing happened to me with some of my stories. You should do what you think is right. So if you feel like you should reboot the story because you're having a difficult time finding a direction to take it in or because the story didn't come out the way you wanted it to then you should do it. It's better to make a story you're proud and confident on rather than dishing out a story that you feel like you could have made better. So good luck to you in your future endeavors.
