I knew I shouldn't read a fanfic that hasn't been updated since 2017. But I did anyways, and now I'm almost crying, 'cause I have no idea if the author plans on finishing it.

I never read unfinished stories because I get too invested in them and then there’s no guarantee for an ending but you fanfic just pulled me in. Like you have no idea.

When you said this was a slow burn you meant it. But it was delicious. And I’m going to be honest with you, those last 3 chapters were scary. Peeta’s parents actually locking him inside the closet and then his bedroom, while his supposedly kind father just agreed to it? It kind of reminded me of Coraline, and how the other mother kidnapped her and the other father did her bidding. I’m honestly still freaked out. I’m thinking of that conversation Peeta had with Lily’s dad at the train station. Something is just not right and it’s creepy!

On the other hand, I’m so glad Katniss is fully on his side now. It’s such a breather. This poor boy has suffered. I don’t want to get to personal, but when he touched the fence thinking it was turned on it just... it got me. I’m not in a good place right now and I identified a lot with your Peeta and his misery, so it’s nice to see that even though nothing has been completely solved yet, he has Katniss.

I’m also quite impressed with the timeline you decided to take for the story. It’s been almost two years since the start of the events of the fanfic and they just got together. Most fanfics I’ve read make them a couple a few months after the start of the story, so this was a welcome and nice change.

I also really liked your characterization of Gale, Delly and even Peeta’s mom. Delly still is as nice as ever but with a backbone and a temper. And Gale... honestly? I think this is exactly how he would have reacted if Katniss started a friendship with Peeta. He doesn’t come off as villainous to me, just hurt and a bit macho, I hope he comes around because I like his character way too much. Lily was nice too, it was great to try to see Peeta get over Katniss and failing miserably, and I did feel sorry for the poor girl. But by the end she was starting to sound a lot like Mrs. Mellark. And we just can’t have that.

Anyway, I know it’s been years since you updated and I hate to ask for updates, but hopefully inspiration will strike you and we might see a new chapter. It doesn’t matter when, I’d just love to read a happy ending for these two!

Well, I wanted to tell you first, that this is the first hunger games fanfic and I must say that I absolutely loved it. I know you haven't updated for a long time, but maybe one more comment can make a difference.
