In the following story, you can have an inspection of the 12th century Holy Land in a parallel universe. I am not considering the movie "Kingdom of Heaven" as the base of my tale, I sprang it from the true historical facts, and will form it in a way that I haven't seen so far in fanfictions regarding this topic.

What if Godfrey didn't die on the way back to Jerusalem? What if he had children other than Balian? Balian goes to Jerusalem in search of salvation, but he finds himself mired in politics, love, family feuds, sibling rivalry and war.

Given little choice but to leave her homeland, the illegitimate daughter of a nobleman finds that she has to build a new life in Jerusalem. She thinks God has shown her mercy, until she is introduced to the King. The young woman cannot help but wonder if there is any chance for this doomed love that grows between her and the ruler. The solid ground underneath her crumbles.

After the crash, they woken up to a time not their own. What will they do? And could twins, enemies for so long, become allies? What if the story line is now corrupted from them going back in time?

This is a story some might recognize. I have continued working on it, and have decided to re-post it. Basically it is a story about what might have been had Baldwin been treated successfully for his Leprosy and continued to reign. It has Romance, Family, Hurt/Comfort, medical details, and a bit of science fiction; and blends the movie, historical record, and my imagination.

It has been 18 years since Balian and Sibylla left the Kingdom of Heaven, much has changed in the world and much hasn't. Now it is time for their eldest daughter to go to the Holy Land. This story is in no way based on actual events, complete fiction!
