I hadn't intended to write a follow up to Arrival, but this has been nagging me the last few days!

A little alternative take on the beginning of the entire canon. This is my first story in this fandom, feedback appreciated!

A post-Picts and Martyrs recounting of the adventures of the Swallows, Amazons, and Ds in which buried treasure, hostile natives, danger at sea, desertion, grown-ups, growing up, and the most difficult of choices all play parts. The first chapter, Return to the Lake.

Dick, Dot, Mrs Callum, Mr Jenkyns Dick opens his mail-order parcel of chemical equipment as a mystery guest is invited to dinner. Chapter 2 needs a trigger warning. It contains an oblique reference to crime against children.

This is another transplant from lj. In fact this is a crossover with the Marlows. Perhaps there is an element of wish-fulfillment here. I think maybe lots of women ( and for all I know, men) subjected to unwelcome attentions and constrained by social pressures not to make a fuss would like to think that the perpetrator feels bad about it afterwards. I bet they don't.

A small fic with one character - a cheerfully weepy Molly Blackett. This piece was written for constantlearner as a forfeit in a private challenge that, if I were to tell you about it, you would never believe us anyway. She has now asked me to share it here; I hope you enjoy it.

The scene on the summit of Kanchenjunga is expanded, exploring the loss of the Amazons' father and the mysterious "missing year" in the S&A canon. Swallows: John Walker, Susan walker, Titty walker, Roger Walker. Amazons: nancy Blackett, Beggy Blackett. Mentioned: Maria Turner, Molly [Turner] Blackett, Jim Turner.

A little pre-series story. One mild swear word and minor injuries.

Set in London in 1939. Originally part of a story that isn't now going to be finished. Just a small scene, not important to anyone except Peggy Blackett and Jim Brading themselves.

It is the summer after the events of "Great Northern?" John is "being properly naval" but the rest of the Swallows, and the Callums, are at the Lake, Mac has offered to lend Seabear to a reluctant Capt. Flint and once again Nancy finds herself promising that there will be no adventures. (Now marked as complete.)

A rather sensationalist story featuring Susan, set around ten years after Swallowdale. It was written in half an hour while I was stuck writing something else.

Roger and Nancy meet on an airfield "somewhere in England" in 1944. I've never been convinced by the John Nancy connection and this story is perhaps a bit hard on John. I have tried to keep the language true to period, especially the dialogue, please do highlight anywhere that I've failed. There is ONE rude word! Revised for typos and details- thanks for the reviews pointing.

Set in the 1950s, Nancy Walker visits a public library and ends up saying what she thinks of someone. Reference to bad language, but no actual swearing.

Timothy's search for copper is constantly being hampered, and he can't help but wish for Jim.

This is originally a yuletide present for Mrs Redboots. It is set in the summer after Great Northern? There may be a few mentions of individuals from non-Ransome books, but nothing warrant being called a crossover.

I claim no ownership of Arthur Ransome's wonderful characters, but I'm writing this to answer some questions: What would happen if the Swallows, Amazons and D's spent a Summer in the Swiss Alps? Where could they go and what kind of adventures could they have, in a landscape crying out for them to spend a summer in? They've made the Lake District their own, what about the Alps?

While my next proper story is developing I thought I'd try a drabble. Peggy joined the WRNS (Women's Royal Naval Service) and gets her first posting.
