Six years pass between Detective-Inspector Charles Parker falling unsuitably but irretrievably in love with Lady Mary in “Clouds of Witness”, and proposing marriage to her in “Strong Poison”. What was happening in between?

Taking place not long after the events in Dorothy L Sayers’ “Unnatural Death”, this story involves another case for Charles Parker and Lord Peter. But this time, Lady Mary gets involved in the detection, too, both to Parker’s discomfort and delight.

Harriet is not coping with a new baby, so she and Peter head out of London to try and have a break. But Peter has some important work to do. Lord Peter, Harriet, the Dowager Duchess and Bunter all have a part to play. Written for Yuletide 2016.

1949. Viscount St George died in 1940. Dorothea, his wife for 1 month and widow for 9 years, is soon to remarry. Jerry has visited his cousin, Bredon Wimsey, to speak to him about the matter, and has now decided to visit his father, Gerald Wimsey before giving up his ghostly form for (he hopes) good.
