To Tom, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Program has been an excuse to get out of the house. All he has left is the Residential Project. 5 days away from his parents. Bliss. Except he got stuck in a group with the druggy rich kid who seems determined to make their lives hell.

Normally, every time someone passes RTI at Malagosto, their graduation is an assassination. Somehow, there's no one to assassinate, or it's too risky. The newest person isn't sure. But this replacement was just straight-up weird. (Crossposted from Ao3!)

As much as he hates to admit it, civilian life doesn't hold much appeal for Alex Rider anymore. Of course, he tries, but it's hard when his dead enemies are stalking him even in his nightmares. Still, he's put all that in the past. But with the appearance of the daughter of an old "friend" of his, he finds himself dragged back into the world of politics, espionage, and murder.

Alex has been kidnapped again by the remnants of Scorpia. That was fine. He'd escape and return to his normal life, well, as normal as his life could get. But things are never that easy, especially for one teenage spy. Not canon compliant. Yassen is still alive.

Sentiment was something that just couldn't be afforded in the chaotic scheme of staying alive. An occupational hazard of a sort, amongst other things. At least, that's what Alex thinks. Tom's just up for the rare opportunity for chaos. (P3 of Double-0-Everything and Nothing at All)
