I am a Simon. But that is not detailed enough to describe my style or writing or reading, so let me elaborate here: I'm a creative thinker, and an overly strict person. Having been put through college-level ELA courses at high school and with some strict a.f. teachers to boot (they cool tho), I have a very keen eye for quality control, especially regarding grammar, plot, and characterization. I'll accept any story, finished or not, and see what I can do to help you get it up to par, whether it be some simple corrections or reworkings to the point where one might wonder if I have nothing better to do with my life. Which I do. But that's besides the point. TL;DR: expect me to be direct, straight to the point, and highly critical. That is all.

I'm pretty good at recognizing story structure, character development, good grammar & spelling, dialogue, and overall objective quality of the story and writing. I can help buff up the story's content, such as changing the specific words of a paragraph or scene in order to elicit a specific tone. Oh, and if you use sophisticated vocabulary only for the sake of using sophisticated vocabulary and are not trying to prove a point, then your word choice will be viewed as utterly pointless. I also do well with avoiding word repetition and in creating a vague atmosphere whose details are further examined as the plot carries on.

I often am able to come up with the beginnings & ends of stories, but it's always the path between them (i.e. the "middle") that gets me. In addition, I can easily get bored and unbored with one of my ideas without warning, so don't be surprised if a story I write isn't updated for months on end...or at all.

I'd prefer to check out stories that are adventurous or have a conflict that really alters the main characters. Something dramatic or angsty is my cup of tea. Oh and things like a deeper message or plot twists! I love me some plot twists! When they're good. If they suck, then I'll complain about it lol

What isn't my cup of tea, though is...

A) Anything sexual. Enough said.

2) Anything that is overly or nothing but romantic. If the romance complements the main plot or is an important subplot in the story, then that is just fine.

D) Anything that switches the POV from first to third person *way* too often, like every few paragraphs. STICK WITH ONE POV GODAMMIT
