I'm a junior at the University of Maine at Farmington, a school well-known on the East Coast for its Creative Writing program, and am double-majoring in English and Creative Writing. I've taken Literary Novel Writing classes and Advanced Fiction classes since attending the college though I've beta-read only a few fanfictions, but I'm usually the first person my friends go to to proof-read their essays XD Not sure if that counts for much... I don't have a particular beta-reading style other than reading and re-reading to make sure that each part of someone's fanfiction makes sense. As for expectations, I would hope that the person I'm beta-ing for would be dedicated to what they're writing and at least try their hardest and not rely on someone else. I want to help, not write the story for you. And if their story has things in there that "every fan would know" without writing an explanation, I would find it most helpful if you told me to avoid possible confusion _

As I said, I'm a junior at a univeristy that's well-known for its Creative Writing program, and I've been writing since middle school, so I've been dedicated to writing for a while! I was the lead editor in my school's literary magazine in my junior and senior years of high school, and if I can't be the author that I aspire to be right away, I'd like to be an editor so while I've gotten some experience under my belt, I need all of the practice I can get!

My inexperience would only lie with what I don't understand. I'm open to reading almost any kind of fanfiction, but that doesn't mean I'm privy to all of the subjects of said fanfiction. If there are certain characteristics that I'd need to know of someone in your story that I don't know, please fill me in! I work better with a little guidance (which could be a weakness, I suppose). And I'm a bit of a spelling/grammar freak, I think... well, I know that I use too many commas...

Categories: Any is fine, just make sure you explain anything that needs to be explained to avoid confusion :)

Genres: See below XD Any not on that list, I'll take...Oh, but with parodies, please make sure you explain the joke to me first! XD

And with stories with a love plot (which is what, like, 98% of all fanfics?) I'm open to reading- hetero, gay, lesbian etc.- all pairings are ones I'll be more than happy to read!

Genres: Sci-fi (I'm not into heavy science stories \), Western (But no one really writes under this category at all, right?) and Crime (Mystery and Crime seem the same, but I think crimes just drag on more).

I can handle M-rated things, but just give me a warning beforehand.
