I have never done 'betareading' on this particular site, but I have several friends who are attempting to write original stories. I edit them for grammatical errors and help to prevent plot holes or obviously unrealistic characters. I do want to give it a try here, because I like to smooth out writings and find it enjoyable. Oh, and I will only read stories that I at least have a passing knowledge of. Because otherwise it just doesn't work.

Foot in mouth syndrome works over a computer too. Though seriously, I never try to be mean, but sometimes people take my criticism the wrong way. And I do compliment people, so there's that. I am also no English major with a focus on grammar. I just try to make things as easily understood as possible.

Ones with little to no romance, preferably with a lot of action or humor? Like, really I'm not that picky. I'd even take the romance, but I'd not enjoy it. Though no harems, seriously. Unless it's some old style ruler with them, then I find harems to be unrealistic and kind of ick. Also, I will only read stories in which I know the universe(as is referred to any fiction world).

I really don't like harem stories, or anything that makes the story only about romance and nothing else. But for the most part I can read any story and stay impartial regardless of my personal feelings on the matter. You have to edit one high school paper that 'badly' tries to shred your core beliefs, and nothing really ever phases you again.
