Hello there, you can call me Rainie. I actually really enjoy beta-reading. It's almost like I have OCD for grammar. But I do know that, as a writer, you will have your own unique style of writing and a certain tone to your storytelling. I don't want to get rid of that style and impose my own, just straighten out any bumps or kinks in the phrasing or maybe fix a stray comma here or there. Beta-reading isn't meant to turn your story into an emotionless dictionary, just enhance your writing. I just want to assure whoever might be considering me for a beta-reader that I do know my stuff; I'm studying English and have read a fair few books. Also, be aware that I am from Britain, so if you're from a different country (like America or Canada or Australia) we might have slightly different views about words and spellings. I'm adaptable though, so if you just let me know which country you herald from and I'll try not to add in any extra letters (coloured/colored). Anyway, I'd be happy to help you out with whatever fic you want me to.

I would say my strengths are spotting odd commas and awkward phrasing. If the sentence could flow better, I'll spot it and think of a way to fix it. If pacing is an issue, I'm happy to point out the unnecessary sentences, or offer a few ideas on how to slow it down.

I would say some of my weaknesses are that I can sometimes get slightly pedantic and have to take a step back and say 'does this really matter?'. I can struggle with paragraphing or spacing issues too.

I don't really have a preference about that at all. I suppose any from the categories on my profile would be preferable but I'm adaptable and happy to help where I can.

I'm happy to help with whatever I can, as long as it isn't extremely brutally violent or twisted or anything incest. (Can't we all just be happy people?)
