First of all, anyone who wishes for me to beta-read should be genuinely interested in improving their writing.

With that said, my first and foremost priority is spelling and grammar. Fluidity and ease of reading are almost just as important, though if choppy sentences and such are part of your individual writing style, I will not touch them. I am NEVER going to try to change your style - I might make a few suggestions, but I will find no offense if you choose to ignore everything I say. (Except spelling. Spelling should always be correct.)

I am very honest with my opinions, and if I say anything negative, I will always tell you how I think you can improve. Feel free to debate with me or simply ignore my suggestions. Again, I won't be offended.

My specialty is details - enough for a reader to imagine and get a feel for what's going on, but nothing superfluous. I'm a very meticulous reader with a tendency for perfectionism, so I'm great at catching any sentences and/or paragraphs that don't flow nicely. I'm also pretty good at finding new ways to word sentences and using different synonyms to avoid repetition, and if anything is unrealistic, I can usually tell immediately.

I am a little more lax with characterization. Unless I am very familiar with the character or your portrayal is ridiculously unrealistic, I will just make a few general suggestions or comments. (Of course, any characters that are intentionally OOC will be left alone.)

Commas are my enemy. I will fix all of your grammar except for your commas unless I am 100% certain they are incorrect.

If your story is really, really engaging, I may miss a few spelling errors. I'll read everything several times over, but unfortunately, I'm not a grammar machine :P

I'm a fan of action/adventure, romance, hurt/comfort, crime, etc. etc. etc. I'll read pretty much anything except the stuff listed in the next section.

For romance, I like yaoi/shounen-ai/slash, but I do also have some favorite hetero pairings. I don't discriminate :P (Yuri is fine too.)

I will NOT beta-read any stories that revolve around original characters. OCs that are side or even pivotal characters are fine (as long as they are not Mary or Gary Sues), but main characters should be CANON. CanonxOC or OCxOC pairings are only acceptable if they are not the main pairing, and even then I can't guarantee I'll like it.

Also, no poetry.
