Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
When I read stories I look at the punctuation, grammar, and how it's structured. Stories that are put together in one block I can't stand so I don't waste my time. The punctuation doesn't get to me that much but if the author doesn't put in any commas or puts in too many exclamation points or question marks then I can't do that. I prefer stories that are written in English, since it's my first language. And if anyone wants me to beta-read for them then I would like them to be able to deal with constructive criticism, understand why I'm changing a couple of things, and hopefully for the author to learn from the advice that I give. I won't read stories that have awful spelling and grammar. In return I'd like it if you mentioned I was the beta, recommend my stories to others, or at least review my stories. |
