First off, I'm a stickler for grammar; my brothers could verify this, they get so tired of my corrections. For the time being, since I'm new to this, I would be more willing to take on shorter stories, but this is bound to change. I can be rather brutal and tend to be a bit sarcastic and if I cross the line or anything, just let me know. I really prefer to help those that are serious about their writing. When I was a kid, I used to write short stories and it has been a passion for me for a long time. It's not what I'm doing full time, but if any of you feel the same, I'd be more than happy to help.

Like I said, I'm always watching grammar and spelling was one of my strongest subjects in school. I feel like I'm better at writing conversations, but it's easier to critique descriptive passages. Keeping things simple is much better for the story as a whole, I've found out. I'm one of those that will write out a whole paragraph or descriptive piece and then the next day shave it down to practically nothing. So keep that in mind if you want me to beta anything for you.

With my writing, I think that some of my descriptions fall flat while others are exactly what I want. That inconsistency bugs me to no end and it sometimes carries over to what I'm editing. I always think that there should be more punctuation than what's required and I tend to cut out paragraphs or passages that I feel are too much. I've done this in the past and then realized later that it was a big mistake because it had some little nuance that made the scene.

I like stories that relate to movies or games. I steer clear of chick-flicks and usually am drawn to suspenseful or epic, (I guess), stories. I really like the one-shots, though, and overall prefer stories that have a little bit of everything in them rather than a primary focus.

I won't beta stories that are based on what I consider classics. For instance: Dracula, the original Star Wars, Gone with the Wind, The Hobbit, Little Women, (there's others, but of course I would draw a blank). 'M' rated stories with more descriptive sexual content make me uncomfortable, so I'd rather not do those, but I might be willing to make some exceptions. So just make sure to warn me ahead of time.
