I've only informally read over my cousin's book as an editor and although I don't have a lot of formal practice with being an editor/beta reader I've caught mistakes in novels! I'm trying to get all the practice I can with writing and editing so I think doing this would be a good experience. I'm a fast reader and I think I'm quite good at proofreading and giving constructive criticism. I'll point out any spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors along with any problems I see with sentence structure and consistency. I'll also try my hardest to return your work to you in under a week. I've usually got a lot of free time so that shouldn't be a problem. 1500 words minimum for any work you'd like me to work on. I also want to say that I've worked with 2 different people whose native tongue wasn't English so I'm fairly used to that if it's a concern. In my experience they've both been way better than they thought they were with the language so don't be too hard on yourself and let language be a barrier for you if that's the case. :)

I believe my strengths are in finding punctuation, spelling, and sentence structure errors to make the sentence and/or paragraph as easy to read as possible. In writing I'd like to think my strong points are in character depth and structure and overall plot consistency. A lot of the time for those of you needing a beta reader you just need someone to read your work and give a 100% honest and constructive review so, naturally, I can help with that as well.

I would say grammar is definitely not my strong point, by that I mean more textbook grammar, but I can recognize most common grammatical errors. I'm also pretty bad at planning future plot but I'm working on that. If you need help with brainstorming though, that's fine. I'd also say that sometimes I'm kind of bad at explaining why certain things don't make sense or certain phrases can't be used but I'll try to explain the best that I can.

As a hopeless romantic I love romance! I also love tragedy in stories so anything dark and full of angst is great! Wanna make me cry? Go for it! I don't usually read stories with an OC though I'm not against it at all, just not what I look for. I love AU fanfics done right! Obviously, beta-reading a story that doesn't interest me at all or something I can't really get into isn't going to be fun for any of us so I would need a short description of what your story is about before I accept it. I love yaoi and yuri so throw that at me all you want. (The list of anime/manga below represents my preferred anime/manga I would beta for. But if I have read or watched it before and it's not on that list I'll still take it. As well as certain books or tv shows if I've read/seen them before.)

I don't read any stories rated lower than T. One of my biggest pet peeves are Kuroshitsuji stories that are Canon but use Japanese words. (Bocchan, Japanese honorifics, etc) THE STORY IS SET IN ENGLAND LOL. The few things I absolutely cannot read is m-preg and gender benders (totally okay with omegaverse though, which makes no sense I know). Though it's not like I think any of those things are disgusting nor do I think you are for writing it- I just have a hard time reading it. Other than that just about anything is fine with me as long as it's quality work! If your English teacher wouldn't accept it I don't want it either! (Although if your English teacher is accepting work with smut in it I think that's a bigger problem...)
