I am giving beta reading a try because I love the writing process. I love to help others and look forward to helping more writers be able to confidently submit their work to this site.

I have a great deal of experience with editing and proofreading, being a double major in English and History (which both require a lot of writing). My friends often came to me to beta read their stories even before they had a word for what we were doing. My strengths are probably most evedent in the area of spelling, grammer, and plot construction. I am always looking for stylistic expressions that can make a work unique.

I do not have a comprehensive knowledge of all genres and might have a lack of understanding of characters that are very close to your heart. Also, like all human beings I have biases and prejudices that may not always be fair or correct. I was dyslexic as a child and am still prone to transposing letters, numbers, and phrases.

I love comic books of all companies, Harry Potter, Star Wars, but also various sci-fi and fantasy fandoms. I also like surprises. Reading a story in an unfamiliar fandom may spark my interest and make me do some research.

I do not like stories that are nothing but a brutalization of a character (Harry Potter gets killed, Hermione Granger gets raped, Ron gets castrated and eaten by dogs)or a perversion of an author's work. There is a fine line between having your own vision and indulging what may simply be unhealthy impulses.
