As a beta-reader, I have just started dipping my toes into the water of this field. My expectations of anyone that wishes to acquire my services are quite simple: One, the story must be for a fandom(s) listed in my profile, and two, the story must have okay grammar. I get that no one is perfect with grammar, but I cannot stand reading a story with really bad grammar. br /

As for my reading style, first I go through and actually read the chapter/story that the owner wants read. Then, I look through it and write down any grammar mistakes that need fixing, as well as any plot holes that need filling. After that, I write down any comments on the story, and finally I make the changes required to bring the story to perfection.

I think I excel at scouting out grammatical mistakes, figurative language, and writing good, full-circle endings. For writing, I excel at characterization, dialogue, and coming up with original story ideas.

Though, sometimes we all have weaknesses. Even I do! (Hard to believe, I know.) This is a little known fact, but I have a learning disability that makes reading "between the lines" extremely difficult. I also have a lot of trouble with accepting criticism, but am good at giving it out carefully so as to not hurt a person's feelings.

I would prefer to beta any Harry Potter themed stories. My preferences are Ravenclaw/Hufflepuff!Harry, Intelligent!Harry, Mentor!Flitwick, Mentor!McGonagall, Mentor!Dumbledore, HeirOfHogwarts!Harry, Political Harry, time travel back to first year, and any story where Harry is raised by goblins. My favorite pairings are H/Hr, H/FD, MMFF, and MMAD. I also like Ron/Dumbledore/Ginny/Molly bashing, as well as a good competent!Fudge fanfic.

I, just like everyone else, have those types of stories that I would really not prefer to read. My least favorite type of story is Severitus/Sevitus, and anything that shows Ginny Weasley in a favorable light. I also like to read Ron/Ginny/Molly/Draco bashing fics, so any of those would be welcomed.
