I love reading and have a healthy respect for the English language. I have a short attention span but read with a critical eye in later drafts, so if your story doesn't grab me in the first few chapters then you're out of luck. If you want me as a beta, a moderate to advanced understanding of the English language is required and be a fairly decent writer. I demand excellence from all my fellow authors (out of the desire to see new and rising authors succeed) so I won't spare you if I think your story sucks. That being said, I won't hesitate to dole out praise when appropriate. There's nothing more I hate than reading poorly-written fanfics the number 1 turn-off for any story. I tend to gravitate towards darker toned themes and elements in stories-humor and happy stuff is rare. I do suffering and hardship very well. Maybe a little TOO well. ;P

I'm fairly good at proofing, grammar and keeping the flow of the story interesting. I excel primarily at read-on-prompts (cliffhangers) because you want to keep readers on the edge of their seats wanting more! Strong, mature main characters are my specialty-I'm less likely to accept a story with a weak main lead or villain. I'm also on the lookout for original ideas, so don't be afraid to get creative! :) I have a dry sarcastic sense of humor and don't mind reading stuff with darker undertones. When submitting requests, keep in mind my time is valuable, so do me a solid and refrain from wasting it with weak characterization or shoddy plots. Also, dialogue and action sequences must be well thought out and characters must NOT sound like they're reading from a script. Organic speech is key.

On the other hand, paragraphs of description make my eyes cross. I refuse to sit through a ton of detailing, so just make sure you describe what's needed and keep the story moving. I'm not comfortable when it comes to writing overly explicit sex scenes (smut) even though I've written light lime-but I can read through it if I really need to. So be mindful when you ask me to read that. However, be sure to keep me abreast of the plot and characters at all times-be specific-because you'll lose me if there's any vagaries. I will also fight for my views-and therefore evoke changes to your work even though it may be offensive to you, I have certain moral standards and will not hesitate to be blunt. CONSIDER YOURSELVES WARNED. I will NOT tolerate being yelled at or insulted in PMs or reviews. I prefer romance, angst, hurt-comfort, drama, tragedy, friendship, family, humor and adventure. Heavy emphasis on angst, hurt-comfort, romance and tragedy. I enjoy hurting my characters, so I won't hesitate to put yours through the wringer.
