I'm just trying out my hand at beta-reading for strangers as I've often done it for friends and find I actually enjoy editing. Much as I enjoy writing, the right and sustained inspiration doesn't always come along and so I keep in practice by beta-reading. In the process/exchange, I get an entertaining read in return and an active role to play in creating a story.

I welcome only stories from any of the anime/manga/cartoons I've listed not because I dislike those I've not seen but because I would better be able to grasp the characters and tell if they were OOC or not if I have actually seen/read the original work.

A fair grasp of grammar and a somewhat meticulous manner toward reading is a plus point in this arena, I suppose. Personally, I appreciate and respect well originality so although, I do add certain phrases or words to enhance a scene, situation, description or mood, I try my best to still convey what the author intended.

I may miss certain minor plot holes, despite the many times I skim through the story. While I'm a stickler for language and grammar, certain details escape me. How out-of-character (OOC) one writes can be rather subjective so, while I also dislike reading OOC stories, certain traits I deem non-OOC may be OOC to others.

For now, I'm open to almost all kinds stated..trying to widen my repertoire here. ^^;

Mary/Gary-Sue fiction. Unless these characters tie in really well with the story.
