Hi, figured I might as well be an official beta-reader as I'm already doing it for some people on the side :)
I really love writing and i've been working on a real live novel for the past year so only just started getting back into writing my own fanfiction. which i'm super excited about.
In terms of beta style, i'm very supportive and encouraging. i like reading fics as much as the next person so i'll push you to work at it. not like a slave driver, but...you know. i've been doing editing through school for about as long as i can remember (one of my good friends is really foreign so i'm always editing her stuff lol), and i think it woud be nice to be doing some legitimate beta-ing, as opposed to just being a mechanics editor.
If you want me to beta, just give me a shout, maybe introduce yourself before you throw a story into my lap :D

Syntax in general really. Again, I do it on a regular basis, so i'm pretty competant. Spelling, grammar, sentence structure, tense shifts....the whole nine yards.
As long as it's not something I've written, I'll usually see it :)
I'm also told I do dialogue editing well....

Editing for length and rambling-ness. I like reading fics and so it hurts my soul to shorten things, even when they need tightening up.
Not too confident at writing violence or sex....no problem reading them or giving input, i just won't be able to help write it generally.
Also, i like OCC-ness so i'm not great at fixing that.

Anything really...i especially prefer really dark and angsty stuff (although that's not generally what i write, so interesting there....)
But really i'll beta pretty much anything :D

If you're writing an OC, unless its well-thought out and for a good reason, i'm generally not interested.

in terms of fandom, no anime please, never watched/read it, never will...
Obviously if i'm not familiar with the fandom i don't think i'd be an effective beta, definitely ask me if i even know the fandom before requesting...

other than that, if i know it or can watch it in under a weekend, it's fair game :D
