I'm sort of new at this, but I have definitely had a lot of proof-reading experience in the past. I like to read over the chapter/story and find out what it's strong points are, and focus on making sure those are polished. I am a grammar-nazi and an avid spellchecker. I like for the writers to have polished looking pieces that are able to reach out to the reader as well as make the writer proud of their work.

I am great at making pieces of writing flow better. I try to make sure the writer values his/her work even as I am critiquing it...because I understand that nobody likes feeling like they are bad at writing. I am good at spotting spelling and grammar mistakes and I try to implicate the writer's voice and purpose into their work. I feel that my history in AP classes in high school and college level writing courses have helped me with my editing skills. I have been around this site for over five years and I know what kind of stories people are looking for and will ultimately give the writer the most satisfaction with reviews and feedback.

While I think I have the potential to be a great writer myself, I know that I have a lot to work on. None of my stories are perfect and I am constantly trying to perfect my mistakes. Some of my stories in the past have contained misspelled words and grammar mistakes, which annoy me to no end. I cannot promise to catch *every* little mistake or off detail, but I can do my best. I am also, in my opinion, not so good with love scenes...but, again, I will always try to improve myself.

Stories that involve plots or characters that I am familiar with. By being familiar with how the characters are in the canon world will help me polish the writing if I see something that a character might not do.
