If you request me to be your beta, I will expect a partnership. I will provide you with critiques and suggestions, you must either take them into consideration and use them or give me very good reason not to. There will likely be a great deal of discussion between me and the writer; communication is our art and words our medium, so do not accept what I say to you without asking 'why?' I am very dedicated to my work as an author and will do the same as a beta, so expect a loyal fan and reader as well as a devoted beta. Please, if you become upset with me during the process, tell me why (constructively), do not simply cease communication or become angry and expect me to know the problem. As a betareader, I am not as critical as I could be, I am in the process of working on this. As a writer, I am not overly descriptive on scenery and surroundings, preferring to let the reader create the world themselves. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I have listed my preferences and intend to stick with that list, unless a request comes in for a fandom I am somewhat familiar with, then I will look into it. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I will not beta any Harry Potter, any Twilight, or Percy Jackson stories. I also will not beta something that is reminiscent of '50 Shades of Grey,' there must be some plot to the story unless specified otherwise, and then it must be a short story. I reserve the right to change this at any time. |
