I'm a type of person who reads for a good plot. A good story-line is something that I really enjoy and it's also something that I like to include in what I write. My first and foremost expectation is decent grammar and punctuation. I can handle a few mistakes cause that's just human nature, but a gratuitous amount of those mistakes is just very irksome to me. My reading style is normal, I think. I first focus on the plot and characters and see if what they do and who they are make sense with the kind of story that they are in. Then I look at the grammar and formatting. I look to see if there are complete sentences and whatnot. After all that, I try to find anything that I can helpfully critique, like using a different word to convey a different tone. I will by no means try and change a persons story from what they want because that is the authors vision and I have no reason to change it.

My strengths are reading to find humor. I can recommend different words and such to better fit the mood of the story and if I am particularly well versed in the subject of the story, I can add my two cents.

Sometimes I can read too quickly through a story and not understand what it is about. When that happens, I try to re-read the story so I can fully understand it.

I like stories with a good plot. I like it when they have plenty of humor cause funny is good. I also like a story that can be very emotional and gripping. I enjoy it when the characters are portrayed as they are in their source material because it's easier for me to read it. I will enjoy a story where the characters are OOC and there is a good reason for it, like an AU. Generally, I like any good story but I don't know if it's a good story until I read it.

Aside from bad grammar and horrid punctuation, one thing that can irritate me to no end is pairings. Now don't get me wrong, I can enjoy a pairing but some just really get in my nerves. Usually it's when people ship two characters that would never be together in their source material or if the pairing is vastly against canon. Now that doesn't mean that I go against any and all pairings. There are lots of em that I actually like but there are some that I wont even read a story because they're in them. Stuff like slash and femslash are things I usually try to stay away from but that doesn't mean I am against them at all. I have nothing against canon same sex pairings. It's just usually when I encounter those stories, they put together two straight characters and that annoys me because it's not accurately portraying them to their source material. Also cross-over fics are something I try to avoid because it's extremely difficult to pull those off.
