As once an editor for a college-level newspaper I am used to the tools of relaying errors in writing and correcting it without changing the meaning to the piece. I have a respect for writers and their work in that I know how much effort goes into each word. I am a lover of stories and can digest enormous amounts of words in one sitting, I think my record is 30,000 of a colleague in the Starfox Fandom. I'm a nice guy, even if the profile seems pretentious in some manner, and made this profile with the soul purpose of allowing more choice for talented writers. More on that in strengths.

Honestly, I'm a communicator so I will definitely communicate everything I am getting from submitted pieces. So there is more than just submitting a paper to get a few typos corrected: we'll discuss where this story is going!

My strengths would probably involve flavor, I know how to spice up a situation. If there's a particularly dull situation that you need a breath of life, then I probably have more than a number of suggestions I can run your way. Another clear advantage I have over the other Betas is age. I'm 20-years old and can maturely dedicate myself to project and handle adult situations than your typical prepubescent FF.netter. I am also friendly, even in an editor, I maintain only a mild professional atmosphere and try to relate to you as a writer - I don't see why this Beta process cannot open the opportunity to make new friends.

I've also got a pretty fantastic sense of humor, I catch jokes and can emphasize a punchline pretty well.

My weaknesses...? Um, I suppose my attention span. If you send a word document to me and it has quite a lot of errors pointing out with red-underline or a few green words, which will happen most often with words that aren't in the dictionary: Arwing, Falco, etc. - I'll actually have to read these aloud to try and get through those markers.

I think another weakness is honesty, but not enough of one to hurt the process; I tend to hesitate in telling people they...aren't doing a terrific job, so I'm a sugar-coater. This is the weakness section, after all.

Preferred, I am one for romance. It's true. But there's has to be substance to it, anybody can recite poetry; but can only get deeper into it if there's a story behind the romance - perhaps conflict? I also have a taste for actions...adventures...mysteries...tragedies...well it seems as long as you're telling a good story and keep me captivated you're doing a good job. I also love laughs, a comedic piece is well and fine if it is carried out well; I do enjoy laughing.

Not my cup of tea...I've never like chai, to be honest.

Really, my only distaste lies in things that are crap. If you really did not pour your everything into your piece and are still looking for a Beta for assistance, I suggest you find someone else. I will rarely read anything beneath the length of 2,000 words; 500 and less you can just forget it. If I find you're sending me a story for the pure sense of just offending the fandom (troll fics), then I will begin to black list you among the other Beta readers - you've been warned.
