I am trying to be a beta here and on three other fan fiction sites in hopes of using the experience on my resume geared toward being a proof reader and/or editor for a publishing company. I am a fast reader but not so quick as to miss when I'm paying attention to. I take careful notes and am very polite when giving back my ideas on editing or correction suggestions. My favorite fandoms to read in are Inuyasha, Harry Potter, Stargate SG1, Alice in Wonderland (all), Alice (SyFy 2009), Labyrinth (Jim Henson), NCIS (Gibbs), Merlin, Buffy, Angel and Avatar: Last Airbender.

I'm very good at being polite and patient. I pay high attention to details in what I'm reading like grammar, punctuation, spelling, word/sentence/paragraph location vs relocation and making sure that I work with the author to make sure I'm understanding what they meant if I get confused by what I'm reading. Not everyone writes the same so I like to check in every few chapters just to make sure I'm understanding the story as they meant it to be told.

Sometimes I will decline if it's a fandom I have zero interest in, fearing I'll be sloppy with my lack of enthusiasm with the characters.

I adore romance and adventure! I also love it when a description of a scene or object is so well written I forget I'm reading a description and believe I'm actually there and seeing it.
