If they want me to be very hard and make them the best they can, I will be very tough on them: so be prepared. If they want just little things checked, such as spelling or sentence flow, I will also do that. I check stories mostly for the flow and personality behind the writing. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Staying true to a character and story. If I know a story and the characters well enough, I feel I can help the author write the characters so they won't be OOC. As well as the flow and personality behind the story. For the flow, I make sure it's smooth and easy to follow, like how one would speak in a conversation. For the personality, I find the authors writing 'style' and help them enhance it, instead of letting the author just sound like a robot throughout the entire story. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Grammar. It's simple, I'm relatively good at it- as in, I can pass all my English courses with an 'A'. However, even in my writing, spelling errors can be found. I'm trying very hard to fix that, and I believe helping others fix spelling errors can also help me fix mine. So, basically, I'm hoping it will be a 'win-win' situation. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I would prefer stories the author shows interest in, not one the author only updates once a year, or doesn't really care about. As well as one with a good, steady plot. Not just a crack fic. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I would prefer not to beta one with a lot of smut. I'm not saying I won't do romance fics, I'm just saying I don't really do sex scenes, unless I exceptionally love the fanfiction. |
