My name is Michelle. When I beta read, I like to get into the story and make sure any corrections I make to the content stays with the original intent. I've had people in the past while helping me butchering my story and changing the content which irks the crap out of me. I am not about that. I'm not into making your story different, because I write my own. There are stories in the past I have read that I have had to stop because either spelling was so bad I couldn't read it or the editing made it impossible to enjoy the writer's /

My technique is this...I will fix grammar, sentence structure, and minor things. Anything beyond that or I have a doubt about I will ask the permission of the author. I'm not in this is rewrite someone's work, only to assist the writer in making it more enjoyable for /

For anyone overseas, the only time I will change a word to the American vernacular is if it is something that is really out there and can't be understood. Most of the time, the words mean the same even with different spelling. I grew up in Michigan and went to college by Canada, so I have a pretty good idea of what's what and I think just about everyone here is smart enough to figure out what's what.

I have edited fanfiction stories for 2 of my colleagues on the MQAS website for General Hospital, plus assisted with brainstorming when requested. I was also was in honors English in high school and college so it's a strong subject for me.

I have in the past taken forever to edit because in my quest to make it correct I over analyze and overchange. Thankfully I am mostly over that stuff and am a lot better. If someone ever has an issue with my editing I need to be told because people have different comfort zones with people proofreading their stuff.

I am a HUGE soap fan and very versed in many different ones, including ones from the 50s and 60s, so I can put that to good use for any history questions. Other shows include Big Bang Theory, Dharma and Greg, Perfect Strangers, The Nanny, Waltons, and Bones. I am also a big fan of Archer, Beavis and Butthead, Hawaii Five-O (more the original than remake), Hart to Hart, and Major Dad. I am always willing to help another writer with whatever story they write if they need me.

Sci-Fi depends on the show. Love Star Trek, but Stargate was never my bag. Fantasy also it depends on the show. If you are not sure, please ask.
