I typically focus on grammar, spelling, word choice, and expression while mentioning any content issues that I pick up. I prefer to use GoogleDocs or the Track Changes feature in Microsoft Word, but I am happy to use DocX for short one-shots or drabbles. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
My strengths are grammar, spelling, sentence clarity, and spotting plot holes or superfluous information. I have studied French, Auslan, and Latin to varying degrees. While I am in no way fluent, I would be able to double check bits of French and Latin within a story that's written in English. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My weaknesses are pacing and following an act structure, as well as distinguishing between errors and stylistic differences. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I love stories that have a purpose or do things a little differently, whether it's structurally or in terms of content or perspective. However, I also enjoy stories that are just sweet and uplifting or psychologically interesting, so I'm open to a range of fics. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Out of respect for the site and its admins, I do not beta anything that breaks site rules. This includes stories that include copyrighted material and detailed descriptions of sex or violence. I also do not read stories that contain incest or the romanticisation of abuse. |
