I will not ask that you alter your content but I will offer suggestions. I will look for grammar and spelling issues. I prefer to beta NCIS, Wrestling and Zelda fiction because that is where I have the most knowledge. I will also beta Bones, Castlevania, Criminal Minds, Harry Potter and Law and Order SVU, The Avengers and Haven. I enjoy the challenge of reading fics and often note spelling errors in fics that I am reading casually. For some reason I cannot profread my own writing, but that I why there are beta readers. :)

I am good with word variances and long sentences. I can offer suggestions on how to change something and details that might be good to add. I will tell you if you have details wrong and if the characters are way out of character. If it is too out of character I may recommend you put it in an alternate universe. I try to see from the authors point of view and the way they see the characters. I try not to be judgemental.

I can't beta a story that is part of a fandom I don't understand. I can't focus very well on stories that are excessively long unless they are chapter oriented. I prefer chapter fics less than 5,000 words in each chapter. I write a lot of one shots so I read a lot of them.

I prefer romance, hurt/comfort and drama. I prefer chapter stories and one shots. I prefer to beta stories with a happyish ending. I love to read anything where a male character plays hero or comforts a female character. I'm a sucker for anything fluffy or sappy. I have no issues with slash. I write some myself.

I will not beta horror genre fics. I do not like to beta stories where characters die. I will not beta anything with explict sexual content. Indeundos are fine but nothing graphic as in detailed sex scenes. I do not like parodies and will only beta poetry on an case by case (or story by story) basis. I refuse to beta NCIS fics that paint Tony or Abby in a bad light (they're my favorite). I'm uncomfortable with AU fics unless I know the fandom really well.
