As a beta, I try to look to see if the story is set up correctly. One huge paragraph isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world to read. I also look for grammar issues and check to see if a story is far-fetched. I find a little bit of OOCness for humor and/or romance okay, but besides that I try to look for making sure the characters act as they would in the original story, movie, etc.

I'm pretty good with grammar. Spotting when someone has a grammar issue is an easy task for me, just not on my own stories. I also am good at telling when a story gets a little too creative. I mean, I enjoy creativity, but if all of a sudden you bring Harry Potter into a Twilight fanfic you've gone too far.

I'm just not good with poetry. I have a mental breakdown when I read a story that is completely poetry.

I'll pretty much read anything. I'm ok with all of the genres and pairings.

I really hate Mary-Sues. I just can't read a story with one in it. I'm ok with most stories with an OC in it, just not a Mary-Sue. And I'm sorry, but I just can't read Clint/OC or Natasha/Loki stories. They drive me crazy. I'm ok with any other pairing in any fandom, except for those.
