In general I have a strong grasp of the English language, both spelling and grammar, and English is my native language. I quite enjoy spell checking stories. If I have to review or give criticism I tend to not say much, I'm more of the mindset that authors will write how and what they feel. I really just prefer in general to stick to spelling and grammar. I read very quickly, and have a fair amount of time on my hands. I will not suffer through a story I cannot muster interest in, but will be polite and honest, and will not leave a writer waiting to know whether I will proof read for them or not. I will not proof read a story that does not have sufficient spelling and grammar to be legible and make sense. I will not make any drastic changes to any author's writing without express permission. I am also willing to beta outside my fandoms, although my knowledge of said fandoms will not be very strong. I will also do general research where needed, and if wanted.

Tendency to interchange between s and z in words that can use either, and using Australian/British spellings of words (due to my being Aussie :P). In general I don't normally give suggestions and what not, I tend to just spell and grammar check. I only speak English and so cannot translate stories.

Depends on the pairing, topic, etc. I tend to go by my interest in a story.

I honestly can't truly say unless I have a look at the story, in general I'll take a look at stories on most topics or of most pairings, but I tend to get selective if I'm not interested in the story specifically.
