I am an English major who loves children's literature, especially Harry Potter. As a writer myself, I understand the writing process. I have two modes as a beta: proofreader and editor. If you're a casual writer looking for a proofreader, I am willing to read your work for grammatical errors, typos, and continuity errors. If you're a more serious writer and you're really looking to create a masterpiece, I'm willing to work as an editor, helping out in terms of style and characterization. I will proofread for anyone as long as I have the time, but I am pickier about who I am willing to edit for. I will not put more time into trying to help a writer's creation than the writer put into actually writing it. Time is my biggest limitation; I am a student and I have a job. However, I'm willing to help as much as I can.

I have a strong background in grammar and close reading, so I'm good at proofreading. I'm also very, very familiar with the world of Harry Potter, so I should be able to spot inconsistencies with the stories.

I'm busy. I will always try to get a story read and returned to a writer within a week, but a longer story will obviously take more time to read. I'd rather do it well than do it quickly.

I love Harry Potter, and I especially love the Marauders. I prefer shorter stories, though I will take on a longer story if I think it's something special.

I have absolutely no interest in slash, or anything too graphically sexual. That being said, if I think a writer or a story is exceptionally promising, I could be persuaded to step outside of my box.
