I love helping people write! It's fun for me, and very /br /br /br / br /br / br / br /br /br / br / br /br / br / When I'm reading critically, I read every sentence thoroughly. I know how to offer my opinion without imposing on your writing style. I can offer constructive, honest critiques. Additionally, I'll never be mean. It's just not in my nature, even with the protection of Internet /br /br / br / br /br / br / br /br /br / br / br /br / br / For the moment I'd prefer to beta oneshots, as I'm busy with school and most of the time I spend on falls into the procrastination category...br /br /br / br / br /br / br / br /br /br / br / br /br / br / I do hope that if I do a good job you'll be encouraged to read and review my fics as well! |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I definitely have an eye (or perhaps an ear) for sentence fluency. My grammar and spelling is generally impeccable, if I do say so myself. Also, I feel that I'm intuitively good at characterization, whether it's in the dialogue or the actual behavior. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
My availability will probably fluctuate, what with school, so if you have a long, multi-chapter fic, just know that ahead of time. (I will try my best to be prompt!)br /br /br /br / br /br / br / br /br /br / br / br /br / br / Also, I know my own writing tends to get wordy and bogged down with internal dialogues when I'm not careful, so I'll have to try not to let that seep into my feedback/betawriting. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
Really, anything goes. I'm up for fluff, romance, and even super-dark angst, as long as it's engaging (or has the potential to be!). I'm also a sucker for dry wit/sarcastic humor. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Graphic smut. br /br /br / br /br / br / Also not so hot on slash, as in, it's not something I write or really read, but I'm perfectly open to beta-ing if it's thoughtfully done and more or less true to the characters. |
