Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi! My name is Grace. I've been beta reading for about 3 years now. I've beta'ed stories in fandoms like teen wolf, the 100, the maze runner, and . Generally, the way I beta read is I start by reading over the piece once and then go back through, changing the text color to red for problems and blue for things the author did well, and comment what I think needs to be fixed and how best to fix it. Oftentimes if it's a small grammar thing like punctuation, I will change it on the document itself. Also, I like to give the author multiple ways to fix something, so I'll suggest two (or more, depending on what the problem is) ways to fix the problem, and the author can choose whichever they prefer. My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I'm good at finding spelling/grammar errors and run on sentences (or sentences that just don't make sense in the narrative). Characterization is also something I can pick up on well, especially if I'm well antiquated with the characters used. |

Sometimes what I consider to be "good grammar" is actually not the most correct way of writing things, and I often use too many commas for my own good. |

I prefer most types of stories! I just care about the content and helping the author make the story better. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Although I do like reading most stories, I will not read/beta anything having to do with rape (including non-con/dub-con and underage), extreme sex situations, and any sort of abuse. |
