I have never beta-read for any fan-fiction before, but I do have experience editing my friends' stories and essays and such, and I am also the editor of my school magazine. I will be a stickler for spelling and grammar, and I won't try to interfere with your plotline unless you ask for advice on it. I promise to be nice and keep my natural sense of irony and sarcasm out of my responses, because I know it doesn't always come across in typing. If I am going to be unavailable for any length of time, I'll try to let you know beforehand - usually I will reply in a reasonable amount of time.

I read and write a lot. I've taken advanced English classes and edited the school magazine for two years. I've always scored high on writing and reading tests and I can honestly say that I know my way around this convoluted language we call English. I will mostly try to cut the technical mistakes out of a piece, but I can also be creative if an author asks for plot ideas.

I am very busy. I can promise to give feedback in a reasonable amount of time, but I am not always at the computer. I will probably draw the line at one or maybe two stories to beta-read, so that I can give good feedback on those in an accurate and timely manner.

I'll read anything off the list of themes, really, although good adventure is probably my favorite. I do enjoy angsty pieces and have a soft spot for good romance (don't tell anybody). Also, I would probably - but not necessarily - be of more use if I have experience with the original story. I read mostly fiction and fantasy, and I enjoy adventure video games, though I haven't actually played a wide variety of them. I will consider something that I haven't read/seen/played, but it's more likely that I'll go with something that I'm more familiar with.

Although this is all fiction, please keep at least a few toes in the realm of sanity. I don't think I can edit very well when I'm still staring at the screen saying "Wait, what?" Humor and random moments are awesome, but maybe not whole crack pieces. Oh, and, while I'm not squeamish, I don't do horror. So please, no creepy singing children or anything, unless it's some kind of practical joke.br /

I would also prefer not to beta non-canon pairings, just because I usually have trouble thinking of the characters that way. I encourage everybody to keep writing what they like, but I will probably turn down most AU or otherwise non-canon stories.
