I really haven't done much "beta-ing," so I can't speak too much to my style except to say that I'm open to being helpful in different ways. I can do just straight proofreading but I'm also happy to try to bounce ideas back and forth or discuss characterizations, etc. I'll try to give you the help you're specifically looking for.

Proofreading; I'm excellent with catching typos, simple grammar errors, punctuation, and misused words (i.e. there/their/they're, to/too/two, defiant/definite, etc.).

I'm a good listener and I like to brainstorm, so I'd like to think I'm good to bounce ideas back and forth with.

I've had limited experience as a beta reader (and writer for that matter), so I can't give you the "I've had years of experience" type of advice on stories.

Turnaround time and just availability in general is a potential issue. I'm very busy with RL and working on my own stories, so I do not always have the luxury of turning around stories right away. I am pretty upfront about this, so please feel free to PM me if you're unsure if our schedules would work.

Also, I'm American, so depending on your story, this may be a disadvantage since my colloquialisms will be American (i.e. if it's a British story, you may prefer someone with British English instead of American English); then again, other times it may be an advantage.

Not necessarily. I read and enjoy stories at all rating levels (here and on other sites), so I'm not opposed to particular language, sexual themes, etc. I enjoy romance more than straight up angst, but can handle some angst if there's a happy ending coming.

Slash, Femslash, rape/sexual assault/molestation, animal abuse/cruelty, incredibly depressing stories with no plans for a happy ending
