I write fanfic as a hobby, and I've also spent a lot of time editing various sorts of writing, for work as well as for my own amusement. I am interested in seeing whatever I am working on end up in its best form, so I will be specific and to-the-point.

I'm good at streamlining writing by cutting excess words, or by rephrasing. I am good at making sure writing is clear and easy to understand for the reader. I'm also very specific about the impression derived from wording choices, and how that influences characterization. I have several strange and specific areas of expertise that may or may not come in handy for certain stories, and I believe in doing my research into the settings and topics that come up in the stories I deal with. I am very specific about things like using repetition only for emphasis. I am also extremely specific about point of view.

I would not call myself an especially technical writer or beta. If you want someone who has read all the manuals of style, I'm not the person you're looking for. The canons I know well enough to feel comfortable beta-ing for are fairly limited. Also, my schedule can be unpredictable, so I'd be a better beta on stories that don't have a strict and frequent publishing schedule. For plays and musicals, I will likely be best at beta-ing for fics based on the specific cast/production of the show that I am familiar with, and I am not multilingual so for anime and manga I am at the mercy of whichever translation I have seen or read.

I don't really have any specific preferences in terms of story genre, but I do prefer to deal with fics dealing with the characters and relationships I am interested in and most familiar with (see my writer profile).

I'm not typically into supernatural AUs of non-supernatural canons, and I'm also not that into crossovers by virtue of not being familiar with enough canons to necessarily be able to beta adequately for both.
