I'm one of those people who mentally beta stories as they read them.

If you ask me to beta for you, I'm not just going to send you the corrected version of your work. I'm going to talk to you. I can critique you on your writing quality, whether the character is IC/OC, natural sounding dialogue, grammar mistakes, etc.

I love doing research, so if you are doing a historical fanfiction, I can help. Not just Wikipedia, but actually going to the library and getting books on the subject to make sure it's accurate.

If you want me to beta, just PM me and ask me if I would like to beta. I can use the DocX system or email, whichever you prefer.

I'm fairly good at grammar and dialogue. I am excellent at making the character's sound natural. I know the line between describing too much and describing too little.

I can't spell. I'll check your spelling if it looks wrong to me, but don't expect me to actually be able to see which words are right and which are wrong.

I cannot beta yaoi, yuri, or any kind of explicit slash. I'm not against it, I just get too caught up in the story to actually remember what I am doing.

As I said above, I'm a stickler for accuracy, so you might have to put up with a few notes on what is appropriate for the time period. Just ignore me.

I would prefer to beta something for Discworld, Hetalia, or Harry Potter. I just know the characters better.

Pairings: For Hetalia, I accept anything. Discworld and Harry Potter...not so much.

No OCs please. I don't mind if it's your own interpretation of a rarely seen character (or something like that) but Mary Sues have really ruined that whole side of fanfiction for me. If you are worried your character is a Mary Sue, feel free to send your fic to me - no promises I won't yell at you though.
