As a beta reader, I believe it is my job to provide you with as much constructive criticism as possible regarding your work. I will give any document which is sent to me several different examinations for grammar, consistency, and characterization, and point out any mistakes I can find.br /

I won't belittle your work, and I have no expectation that you must implement any of my suggested changes. At the end of the day, it's still your creative work, and I'm just here to offer suggestions which you may or may not follow, not to make demands. br /br /br /

I do expect that any document sent to me will already have been proofread by the author. Additionally, if you are sending me a multi-chapter story, I would appreciate an outline of the plot and planned character arcs in order to assess your characterization and storytelling properly.

My in-depth knowledge of Buffy, Angel, and Community gives me a solid grasp of each character's personality, motivations, and knowledge. Additionally, I tend to be good at spotting out-of-character moments and plot holes. Thus, I ideally may be employed to read over a story with an eye towards characterization and plot consistency.

I am still relatively new to creative writing, and as such do not consider myself to have as solid a grasp of mechanics, flow, and other author craft techniques as I could. I am happy to help in these categories, and in all honesty I do think I have a better grasp of grammar and mechanics than many, but if you specifically want an expert in these areas you may want to look elsewhere.

I am a massive fan of crossovers in particular. Something about the idea of characters from completely different universes interacting really appeals to me, and as such crossovers are my favorite type of fanfiction to read and a type of story about which I am generally very enthusiastic. I'll beta read pretty much anything involving at least one of the preferred fandoms cited below, though. In terms of genre, I prefer stories which don't center around a romantic ship to ones that do, although I will beta read either kind.

I would prefer not to read stories featuring non-canon slash pairings. For example, I'll beta read a Willow/Tara story, but not a Spike/Xander story. Additionally, I'd prefer not to beta read anything with sexual content above a T level. I cast no aspersions on those who write these kinds of stories, but they're just not my area of interest.
