As an editor/ beta, I've had experience for the past two years, mostly going over original fiction and some fanfiction. When reading a piece I have to beta, I usually quote it so that the person knows what I'm referring to, then explain why I singled that passage out. When making suggestions for improval, I never suggest something specific, but rather something 'in the general sense' with various examples. I always leave it up to the author him/herself to re-write that particular passage, if they so choose to.br /

When reading something, I usually focus on the following:br /

a) Characters being IC or OOCbr /

br /

b) Continuity (as in, the writer does not contradict him/herself)br /

br /

c) Correct use of vocabulary/ grammarbr /

- Unless requested to, I will not correct your typos -br /

If someone wouldlike me to beta for them, there's only one thing they'd have to keep in mind: what I state as a problem is my opinion and, as such, i'd be willing to argue for it. if they don't agree with somthing I have pointed out, they may ignore my advice. However, if I'm continously ignored, I'll not beta for them. if you choose me as your beta, I'd prefer it if you did not argue with me or state I'm being too harsh. I will do my best to make your writing the best it can be. if you're not willing to lower your pride enough to agree with something, so be it.

I never have qualms about stating m opinion. however, I'll try and keep my phrasing gentle and very to the point. I nevr attack a writer or the piece, but always teat it as improvable, no matter how bad it may be. I will never flame, but always encourage.

As a writer, I tend to dislike editing my own writing. it usually feels perfect the moment its written. As a beta, I find that sometimes I might be a litle harsh or sarcastic, though usually only with people I'm well-acquainted with.

I accept all types, though I'd rally not look over crack-fics.

Any fanfic that involves yaoi, slash and MRPEG.
