Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
I am a bit of a FANATICAL anime addict, as well as a devoted manga reader. I am currently involved in reading multiple series, including Cardcaptor Sakura, Rosario Vampire, Kamichama Karin and Dragon Ball Z. My beta reading style? I'm not really strict per se, however I will not neglect my duties as a beta reader, and I will unfailingly notify the writer of any and all errors, grammatical, spelling or anything. My expectations for those wishing to acquire my services as a beta reader are simple: 1. Be courteous when requesting me. 2. Please don't leave me hanging. I am fine with just the normal text reviewing stuff, however, please let me know of any specifics you may want. And 3. Please, if you have the time, read and review my stories! It would be much appreciated. Thanks! :) |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
As aforementioned, anime and manga would probably be my best areas. I am good with spelling, grammar, puntuation placement and word placement, as well as vocabulary (if the wrong word is used for something and stuff like that). I am fairly good at writing expressively. Descriptive work is a strong point of mine as well. (Features of characters and landscape/others.) |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
One of my great weaknesses would probably have to be my OOCness. I seem to have an unusual knack for writing half my stories with characters that have unfitting/opposing personalities compared to their "real" counterparts. Another thing would probably be the haste with which I write so often. I will write a (in my opinion) great story for the most part, only to become excited and impatient when finishing, and so I only end up with a great story with a good ending, instead of a great story through and through. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I would really prefer to beta stories in the "Anime", "Manga" and "Games" categories. Sometimes I may manage one or two in the "Books" area, however I am not familiar with many of the books on the lists. I can probably do some "Cartoons" too. Oh, and crossover stories are fine too, however if both subjects don't belong to any of the aforementioned categories, you may be better off requesting the services of a beta reader familiar with both categories the subjects of your stories belong to. The genres I like are usually action/adventure, romance(ESPECIALLY ROMANCE) and more happy-ish stories, you know? I can, however do some darker works. Oh, and some suspense and lemony stuff too, as well. Also, I definitely don't mind yaoi/yuri or shounen ai ;) |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Plays, musicals, tv shows, comics. I don't really have a rating category I prefer, I can to stories in any and all ratings. I can do the M-rated ones that have their ratings for violence and/or language, and lemony content. So, basically, I have all the bases covered there. |
