Beta Description
Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As of 11/25/19, I am currently active.

Hey guys, thanks for clicking on my profile and having your interest in me as a beta-reader. First of all, I want to state that I am happy that you are looking for a beta-reader. Beta-reader's are extremely important when it comes to one's story. For starters, it's to improve your writer, but to also have a different point of view on things. And for that, trying to improve, I admire /

Who am I as a beta-reader? As a beta-reader I am extremely thorough with my work, and I like to give you my honest unbiased opinion on your writing. I go over one's work really thoroughly and I help make suggestions such as: "This sentence can probably be re-worded as _" or "This part is confusing to me, what were you trying to say?" These are just some of the things I /

As you tell I take beta-reader extremely seriously, but this is because I want your work to be the best it can be, but also for my sake as well. As a writer I always strive to improve, and even though I haven't been publishing for some time I have been writing on my own outside of this site. But by looking at another person's work I can better detect errors in my writing as /

br /

My beta-reading style is that I take your document into either a google doc so that we can work on it together so there can be transparency, or I take it to word and write comments on it if that's what you prefer. But I like to be interactive and have some sort of communication (because fanfiction does not have a function like google doc or some other thing like that. If there is, please let me know.)br /

My expectations as a beta-reader, I expect you to take your writing seriously as well. But I also expect you to be open to constructive criticism. It takes two to tango, and I don't want to tango with someone that's only half into the dance. Anyone that wishes to acquire my services must have the drive. I don't expect your writing to be at the level of some writer's here such as Lilly-Belle or Tahimikamaxtli. But I ask that you have the drive and the will to better yourself as a writer.

My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Some of my biggest strengths is definitely writing out character emotions. I'm a big advocate for empathy because, in my opinion, I feel like emotions are one of the best ways to connect the character to the reader. It creates a strong reader and character connection, and it also shows that there is a lot of depth to the character as well. I also excel at fleshing out characters and giving insight on how character relationships can form naturally, rather than artificially. I am also great describing things and giving them a deeper meaning, all the while connecting them to the character in question to give the character more depth in terms of their feelings, psychology, and behaviors.
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
One of my biggest weaknesses is that I have a limited bank of sophisticated vocabulary in my inventory. I will have to probably look up some words to make the sentence stronger, and that takes some of my writing time. Another weakness I have is that I'm indecisive on how I want a sentence or paragraph to be structured. For example, should I describe the action of what the character is doing at the beginning before he/she starts to speak? Or should I implement in in the middle of his/her dialogue? Or should I add it at the end? If so, how should I do it? Where should I put the comma? Should a period go here? br /

This is something that I am constantly working on. It has improved, and I'm starting to get a hang of it. However, it is a work in-progress and takes a lot of my time.

Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I am a huge sucker for romance and action stories, which are my two favorite genres. However, I am open to any genre because I just want to help others as well as improve my writing skills by critiquing others.
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I don't really have a distaste for any particular genre, so come at me.
