As a Beta Reader, I tend to look critically at any documents submitted and point out errors as far as grammar, punctuation, and spelling when need be. I will also give advice on what can be left out of the story and what could benefit the story telling of your piece. These are purely suggestions and you do not have to implement them whatsoever. The choice is solely up to you on whether or not you would like to take my advice. I'd hate to have someone tell me how to write my own story, so I would never do that to someone that I am beta reading for. Now, when documents are submitted to me, I try to have them returned, all reviewed and revised within 24-48 hours of receiving. If it will take me longer than the 1-2 day time that I usually take, I will inform you in advance and give you a general timeline for when I think that I may be done. This generally happens if I have completed a chapter of one of my ongoing stories and am in the process of editing it for submission or I have a really big assignment due for one of my courses that I am currently enrolled in as I am a full time college student. I prefer that documents are submitted through email (I will provide you an email address to send your document to that I have access to at all times) as I do my editing through Microsoft Word. This allows me to leave comments on the document with suggestions on what should remain and what should be taken out. As well as examples of how sentences should be structured to help with the flow. Again, these are all purely suggestions and you do not have to implement them if you so choose. You will be alerted that I have received your piece and if the time frame will be longer than that 24-48 hour window I generally give, I will let you know right away so that you are not left in the dark and wondering how long it will be before you get the document back. If the time frame that I give you is too long of a wait, please let me know and I can point you in the direction of another beta reader that may be able to help you sooner than I can.

My strengths lie in finding mistakes such as grammar, punctuation and spelling and fixing them to allow the sentences to flow better and ensure that words are not being used incorrectly.

Weaknesses when it comes to beta reading would lie in beta-ing a piece that is in a foreign language. I speak/read/write in English only so I would be unable to help you if your piece is in another language.

I'm completely fine with beta-ing any types of stories whether they be angst, romance, adventure, action, you name it. I am not a shy woman and have written my fair share of smut myself so if there's some NSFW content within the story, I'm not going to shy away from it. Those kinds of things don't put me out.

There's no story that I won't beta read. I look at stories objectively, not for enjoyment when beta reading. I may not agree with something that has been written, but I believe in the philosophy that you will write whatever the hell you want to write and no one will stop you.
