Me as a beta-reader: I mostly strive to correct spelling and grammar. That is my first goal. After that, I pay attention to what is written, making sure it flows and makes sense. If one wishes, I can give them specific feed-back on certain characters and/or the plot/scene. I will try to be straight to the point with what needs to be changed, but I always give credit where credit is due, making sure the writer also knows what they are strong at. I expect people to understand that I am very busy as well and that I am doing my best to get back to them in a timely manner. I also expect people to accept what I tell them graciously-though they don't ever have to follow my suggestions-and that people will work with me on a professional and courteous manner.

Being Mean, Overall Plot Ideas, and Poetry are my weaknesses.

I prefer any type of prose... and I don't really have a favorite genre.
