It's sorta fun being a beta reader, mind you. I prefer beta-ing chapters with more than 1000 words. I also accept smaller chapters, as long as they are not poetry. While reading, I read and watch out for all aspects of the story, the suspense, the drama yada yada. I believe the most important is the character development, but that's me saying. I have an unhealthy addiction for action and adventure, ( Hey, I'm a boy. Sue me.) along with some addiction for romance as well. I generally prefer fics that are well balanced, and try hardest to mine the same. ( Its tough to stop the heroes from winning all the times...) For all the fics that I read, I give them a fair chance, usually reading the first two to three chapters, seeing if they interest me, then move on. For those who require my services as a beta, I usually accept all requests, except for song fics and small one shots.

I generally go for modern fics, which have a healthy dose of action. My mind is an absoulte rampaging machine, full of ideas. I prefer 3rd and 2nd person views along the the rare 1st person. Before typing anything for any fic, I do the all the necessary research for that. My strength lies in descrpitive combat, mostly hand to hand. Desrciption of feelings and the surroundings is a thing that I like.

My main weakness lies in the drama sector, as I think that I am unable to create the appropiate amount of suspense. I also lack in tragedy, usually prefering not to kill the good guys off, which is one of my worst bad habits while writing. Finally , I also lack a bit in romance and humour.

As seen above, I would highly prefer to beta read action and adventure fics, along with the crime and suspense genre. Stories in which the authors inculde their own characters peak my interest, and I tend to read them a lot. But as they capture the most of my attention, I usually tend to point out many mistakes in them, I'm afraid. Romance stories shall also be accepted, upto a certain degree.

Stories that focus completly on humor or romance. While I like to read them, I deem myself unable to point out the finer aspects of these genres. Stories that have an abundance of tragedy, angst and useless drowining in self pity also come in this category. I also tend to stay away from them, for too much of something pisses me off.
