Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
Hi there :) I'm, as you can see, TheUnderstatement, but you can call me Evie :) I beta ANYTHING, any length, any style... apart from anything in a different language. I do English only. Otherwise, your story would be messed up :P When beta-ing, I'll list your errors or things that could be changed with paragraph references (I've beta-ed a few people without a profile before, and they've found me to be helpful and whatnot :P)... I'll be around most of the time, and I choose to beta other people's stuff over writing my own, due to my over-kind heart... :P Anyway, if you're interested, PM me with an excerpt and a plot line and I'll definitely consider it :D (by the way, the smilies don't affect my writing. I just like expressing myself :P). My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I can do humor and sarcasm. And I'm good with making romance less cheesy, and things more realistic, in a sense... I'm a TOTAL nitpicker, coming from a family of authors and writers, so no worries about any slip ups.. I'm cruel about grammar and incorrect plot that ruins everything etc... I see good in everything, but it doesn't mean I won't be completely honest :P |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
I'm English. So you may have to explain some American slang to me, although I should know just about everything. I probably couldn't handle too much gore, or OTT sex... I don't mind sex. That's fine. But not insanely crazy scenes that want to make me puke. NOT cool :P I can do OOC, but I will say when I think you're pushing the boundary too far with it... |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
Romance and Humor. My best subjects are Sonny With A Chance, Camp Rock, High School Musical, Wizards of Waverly Place, Hannah Montana, Disney Channel, Disney Channel, Disney Channel etc etc etc... (DON'T STOP READING HERE. DON'T JUDGE BOOKS BY DISNEY SMOTHERED COVERS, PEOPLE ;) ), Glee, Twilight, Gossip Girl, Doctor Who... I can do pretty much anything, though, so if you wanna ask first that's fine :D |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
Again, gore. Ew. I'm not gunna be able to give you advice on what to write in sex scenes, either. I'll beta 'em, but not write them for you. Well... if you're really nice.. maybe :P And I won't beta a story if the writing standard isn't high enough. I'm sorry. I know it sounds cruel, but it's kinda a waste of time :/ |
