as a beta-reader, i'm not like an editor. of course i'll look at things like spelling, grammar, punctuation yadayada, but that's not what is important in a story. the cohearancy, the ability to connect on a interpersonal level with the characters we are already familiar with. this may sound corny, but the words need to "flow", effortlessly and easy as breathing. since this site is as unique as it is, we are all familiar with the characters we are reading about. so it is my job to keep it that way.

vocabulary. i'm not like a walking dictonary but i'm good at picking and tugging at words that are boring, replacing them with ones that a) might make more sense and b) would help ad to the umph of the story.

grammar and punctuation, but i think i will be sufficent enough for betareading. hopefully. fingers-crossed.

twilight & harry potter. but STORIES THAT STICK TO THE ORIGINAL PLOT DIRECTION AND AREN'T WACKY.

stories that stray from the original goal of the author. i have written a few short novels of my own, messing around on my computer until the words come pouring out of me. stories with new weird character, ones that don't seem anything like the true souls of the characters are stories i would not like to betaread. as a writer, i personally would find it insulting if someone took my characters and threw them into an alternate reality. individulaity is great, kudos to everyone who is original. damn, this whole site and everyone apart of it is unique. but there comes a point where too much can be too much.
