I'm a female medical student about to graduate. I often proofread and critique papers and personal statements for friends. I tend to be on the nit-picky side. However, I'm a firm believer in constructive criticism, and as such, I explain the vast majority of my suggestions. I'm always willing to help, and I enjoy doing so.

I'm good with word choice, including the connotations behind choosing one word over another and when a word is over-used. I'm also able to make dialogue sound believable without taking away from the reader's understanding or the character's speech. I'm also strong with grammar and spelling (and I'm a bit of a stickler for them). I can also help with plot and character development. I'm also good with most medical terminology and explanations of it. I also have a degree in Spanish, so if there are small parts of your story in Spanish, I can help with them. I also take my time to give you the best read that I can.

I have a busy schedule, so it may take a day or two to get back to you. Also, I tend to be thorough with my reads, which can also take some time. Occasionally, I get a bit confused with some capitalization rules, however I've always been able to successfully look them up.

I really enjoy family stories and hurt/comfort, although I truly enjoy reading everything.

Anything where an ADULT IS HAVING SEX WITH A CHILD, unless it's used as a segway to the perpetrator getting arrested and punished and the child getting help; this description includes Snape/Hermione stories where she is an adult (it still squicks me out). I'm not a huge fan of slash, but it doesn't bother me.
