My name's Chris, and I'm a 23 year old college student. I've read a lot of beta profiles in search of users to help with my own stories, and in the process have developed a fairly clear idea of what I would look for when browsing for betas. I'm not going to bore you by listing every single romantic pairing I'll beta for; any pairing can be excellent if it is well written. I watch a lot of movies and T.V. shows, so I'm a very visual thinker when I read something. I'll re-read a paragraph several times to get a clear mental image of what the author is trying to communicate before continuing.

Grammar and Spelling: Any beta who doesn't count these among their strengths should reconsider being one.

Diction: I don't like to re-use descriptive words, and as such have developed a strong vocabulary to help keep your narrative colourful.

Sarcastic or Dark Humour: The kind of comedy that you might find in a show like Dexter or Buffy/Firefly.

Graphic Lemons: Like Hitchcock with horror, I believe that sexuality is made far more erotic by leaving a lot to the imagination. As such, I can't really help with overly descriptive sex.

Fluff: I believe that a story should have a point to it, be engaging and thought provoking.

Your story should be largely free of basic errors (capitalization, formatting) before I read it. As with most beta profiles, I prefer you stick to the fiction I've listed below if you're looking for plot advice, but if all you're looking for is proofreading, I don't mind looking at something new to me. I'm always looking to expand my horizons.

Anime. I've found that either you're a part of that world, or you're not, there's no in between. I'm capable of dealing with most of the questionable/taboo subject matter, such as abuse, rape, etc., so long as they're done with a purpose, and not just for shock value.
