Beta Description
Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
As a beta-reader, my focus is on the grammar, punctuation, spelling, and tenses of your fic. I do not generally get involved in the plot of a story- mostly because no one knows better than the author what they want to see. My mother was a full-time proofreader, and I gained a healthy respect for the English language as a result. I was the editor for all of my group projects when I was at college, and we were never marked off for anything under my purview. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
Spelling, grammar, punctuation, 1st/3rd tense correction, and present/past/future tense correction. |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Action scenes, flashbacks intermixed with current happenings. |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I have no special preferences, except that I am very fond of live-action Disney Channel shows. I'm not proud of it, either. |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
I would prefer to not beta-read fics that are real-life celebrity fics. I have a tendency (read: compulsion) to report ToS violations on real-life fics. |
