Beta Bio: general description as a beta reader
My name is Bubbaly Waddle and I am willing to be your Beta Reader. Why? Because I love to read fanfiction! But fanfiction in the fandoms that I prefer over others. If it's something that will not interest me, I will not do it. I'm sorry, but that's the way I am. I will try my best to have your story proofread to perfection and gramically correct to the extent that I am able to do it. I have been a perfectionist for years and need everything to be spelled correctly, so if spelling is NOT your cup of tea, well, I'm the Beta Reader for you. |
My Strengths: beta, writing, or reading strengths
I am very good at spelling. Won second place at the Spellng Bee twice when I was in junior high. I practically need everything to be spelled correctly. I have gotten much praise for my spelling skills, so if you have problems with spelling, I will surely help you with that (before you choose me though, consider learning about Spell Check, eh?). Also, if you have a story in first person and I know the character you are having the point of view from, I am very good at knowing the feelings and behaviors the character may be having in situations. I also do better at stories in past tense form than in future tense. I am better at past tense stories such as "I liked what she had said to me. She was very sweet and I was happy to have met her." |
My Weaknesses: beta, writing, or reading weaknesses
Sadly, I am not a perfectionist at grammer. I'm fairly good at it to an extent, but I get told a lot that my grammer can be improved. I will help you with it as well as I can. I am also not good at stories in future tense. A lot that I've been told, I have most of my grammer issues with stories in the future tense form and I choose to turn it into past tense occasionally, so no future tense stories like "I see my friends there. I wave at them and then sit down in the closest empty bar stool that is near me." |
Preferred: types of stories I prefer over others
I'd rather Beta Read stories that have the genres romance, mystery, horror, drama, hurt/comfort (I love tear-jerkers), suspense and tragedy. I DO NOT do stories about the wild west or anything having to do with fantasy. I perfer slice-of-life stories over fantasy's every day, so no fantasy! I also prefer stories about the supernatural, with ghosts, seances and oujie boards and all that. Also stuff about supernatural creatures like the Chupacabra or anything from the TV show "Lost Tapes" I'd do without saying a thing! I'd also prefer ONLY to Beta Read about the fandoms that I have. I don't mind what kind of pairing it is: yaoi, yuri, straight, I accept them all! I also Beta Read stories of any rating: K, K+ T, M, but I prefer the more explicit M stories over kiddy K stories any day! |
Would Rather Not: I do not beta for these stories
NO FANTASY! I ABSOLUTELY DISGUST FANTASY! Nothing to do with dragons, squids, octupuses, mid-evil creatures, mongolians, anything to do with that! I also do not ship stories in fandoms that I do not have listed. If it's something that is not listed there, well, I'm sorry but you're going to have to find yourself a new Beta Reader. I also do not do Twilight or The Hunger Games! I disgust both of them in the case that people are too overly crazy for them, so nothing to do with that. |
